Perspectives on prophets: over the last nine months, we’ve explored various prophetic voices together, including Isaiah’s messages of consolation (Selections from Isaiah 40-63), King David’s admirable qualities in the transition of power (I Kings 1), the delicate balance of God’s love and anger (Hosea 11:7-12:2, Ovadiah 1, Amos 2:6-3:8), and Jeremiah’s distress over the complacency of Israel (Jeremiah 34,33). This last class will give us the chance to discuss our major takeaways from the prophets and how they can play an active role in our theology, morals, and values.
